VIVEKANANDA COLLEGE, ALIPURDUAR CENTRAL LIBRARY
Vivekananda College, Alipurduar which started its journey in 3rd October 1985. In the year of inception the library of the college starts its journey with a small collection of books. Later on Mrs. Bhattacharjee wife of Late Satyendra Bhattacharjee donated Rs. 25000/- (Twenty Five Thousand) for purchasing an bookcase/ almirah and some books for Library in memory of her husband. By utilizing this fund 424 (Four Hundred Twenty Four) books had been purchased. Library is the nerve centre of the learning process of the college. It has a rich collection of books, some rare which are no longer in print and hard copies of journals both national and international. The Library in the college also puts at the disposal of students as repository of career guidance books. College Library also has very good collection of reference books and bound volume of journals. In addition to wide repository of text and reference books, the Library holds newspapers, previous year question papers and the periodicals
This library is a member of N-LIST (a project funded by the MHRD through INFLIBNET) which provides electronic access to huge number of e-journals and e-books. The library provides open access to all teachers, staff and students through WebOPAC system.
